Hi -
I recently purchased a pretty original 1971 convertible. I've been going through the car checking numbers based on the judging guide and I have just a couple questions. This car is a base motor, air, automatic, convertible. I've found that most parts are still original under the hood and the interior has only had minor work done. The rear quarter trim has holes for lap belts but the seats do not. The seats were recovered at some point and the belts are originals with the date stamp stickers woven into the belt. They have the connection for rear shoulder belts. I believe the tank sticker is still on the car but I have not been able to get at it just yet.
What I wanted to know was if a convertible in 71 shipped with the shoulder belt holes on the rear quarters whether it had them or not. I couldn't find anything in the book describing this. I know this is a pretty rare option and I am trying to determine whether the panels are replacements (although they look like originals) and what I actually have here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks -
Pat
