    C2 Upper Control Arms

Help, is there a left and right upper control arm for a 65 Corvette? According to the AIM, they have the same part number. I had the body blocked about a foot off the frame for cleaning painting and rebuilding, and when I set it back down the control arms seem too close to the font side of the inner fender opening. When I was putting them in it seemed to me that the offest front to back was different so I installed them in a way that the clearance seemed to be even front to rear.
If I do have them reversed can I swap them by supporting the car on the lower arm and just unbolting the steering knuckle or do I need to remove the coils again?

    Thanks in advance,

    George

    George -

Yes, they're different left and right - 3820481 (LH), 3820482 (RH), as shown in the A.I.M.; the front edge has a definite concave curve in plan view as it approaches the ball joint area, and the rear edge is more nearly a straight line. You can support the car by the lower arms and swap them without removing the springs.

      John,

Well I am feeling pretty stupid now. I read the part number in the AIM as 3820481, and the -2 as two of them. As my post also said, I had tried both ways when I was installing them and they seemed right. The picture in the AIM clearly shows that I have them installed correctly. Thank you for reading lesson, and your assistance.
