Sirs: I am trying to identify the capital H that appears after my VIV number that is on the passenger side door. This a GM tag and blue in color. I have ask several folks for info about it, but so far no answers. Juliet who manages the 70 Registry suggested I contact Mr Cook thru this site as she says he is the GUHRU on these tags. Any information would be greatly appreciated. A photo of this tag can be seen at freewebs.com/gumtree . Thank you Jim Hileman

Re: 70 LT1 blue door tag/attn: Bob Cook
Jim,
Long time no see!
For those of you who wonder, Jim's 70 LT-1 coupe is a beautiful car. I lusted after it the 3 years we were in the same Club. His Callaway is beautiful, too.
Knowing Jim's car, I have no doubt that the tag is original. I went out now to look at my own 71 and 72, and don't see any letters. The 71's sticker, though, is falling apart enough that it may be gone. My 70 Cutlass has no letter.
Good to see you here, Jim. I wonder if anyone else will know about the "H".

Jim,
The VIN impression on your certification label was made at St. Louis using the protect-o-plate. If you have that plate you can look and see where the H is in relation to the VIN. On the p-o-p that H means your car has a Holley carburetor. Enjoy your LT1.

Hi Patrick: Good to hear from you and will tell club the same. Club has grown quite a bit over the past few years. I actually was trying to get your EMail and pose this tag question to you. Terry Mcmanmon's response to the question has the explination of the H on the tag. HGope things are going well and have a great summer. Best Jim- Top
