    wheel restoration 80 vette

I have a 1980 vette w/factory aluminum wheels (n90). The car has 9800 original miles. It has been stored in an inclosed garage for years. I had a dog that loved to urinate on the tires. I noticed that 2 of the wheels are slightly pitted (not pits but blemished). I do not now if these were polished aluminum or machined wheels. I have a feeling they were polished as I never had to constantly polish them. It might be that the problem is with the clear coat on the wheel. I am looking to see if you now a good place they can be sent to be refinished and the wheel windows repainted.

    Thanks for your help

Get a good alum. polish and a can of semi-gloss black paint. Otherwise, do it yourself!

The clear coat on my 78 wheels (same as your 80) yellowed to the point it was no longer attractive. I used fine steel wool which removed the clear coat. I started out with lacquer remover but found it too tedious and then discovered the steel wool did it without the brush/rub routine with the lacquer remover.

Then used the polish and eventually used "Never Dull" to spruce up
