I have a '65 with power brakes and the original master cylinder. My master cylinder bore is pitted. I don't want to spend too much money replacing or resleeving my original as the car is a driver. Will the '67-'79 master cylinder fit under the hood of my '65 without interferance? I read in an archived post that this master would not fit under the hood of a '64 with power brakes (disc converted). Same post said that the '67 master/power assembly was mounted lower than the '64. Is this also true for a '65? Thank you...

Re: '65 Power Brake Master Cylinder
Sorry for not being able to answer your question,But I am going to give some usolicited advice, White post restoration will rebuild and resleeve your master cylender for only 150.00 plus shipping.I have to figure that a 67 master out of a autopart store is going to cost half of that, then you still have to get the adapters to go from your smaller brake lines to a 67 and you still have the wrong master,Get yours rebuilt,In case you dont know a correct 1965 power brake master cylender is very valueble,I have a 1966 with power brakes and just removed a 67,s master cylender to put on a correct style with the screw in caps.If you want Ill trade you the 67 I have in my garage with adapters and all and a new plated cap for your old, pitted master cylender.
ONLY KIDDING YOUR MASTER IS VERY VALUEBLE- Top

Re: '65 Power Brake Master Cylinder
Thanks Larry, I was interested to hear that you removed a '67 master from your '66. Did you have any clearance problems with your hood and the '67 master? I will have probably have my original resleeved eventually, but for now I want to buy a rebuilt '67 or later unit. I have seen the crazy prices the '65-'66 power masters are going for.- Top
