    C! EXHAUST MANIFOLD NUT

What is the correct nut for a 1961 exhaust pipe to manifold? Is there suppose to be a lock washer? Thanks, Joe DeLuca Member#37862

    Re: C! EXHAUST MANIFOLD NUT

    Joe,
The correct nut should be an acorn shaped nut that is self locking by virtue of it's distorted bore. There are no lock washers and the brass tall nuts that you see everybody selling as NOS, are incorrect. Most of the vendors carry a correct appearing nut that should not take any point deducts.
