I have a 1969 L36 Coupe with A/C. I did a body off about 12 years ago. When I put it back together I did not have a fan shroud. I later bought the shroud and now I am Finally getting around to putting it on. I removed the clutch fan and found that I could not get the shroud past the water pump. After looking things over it appears the only way to get the shroud in was to remove the radiator. With the shroud in place, I started to replace the radiator and here is the rub. I cannot get the lower gooseneck to clear the A-frame. The shroud is in the way. I have the correct shroud. What is the trick or what am I missing? HELP!!!!

Re: 1969 Fan Shroud installation
There are several ways of doing this. One way is to remove the hood. Then remove the bolts on the radiator support. Leave the lower loose. Roll the support forward at the top to give room to remove the radiator and the shroud. Another way is to remove the upper control arm on the RH side which will give room to remove the shroud and radiator.- Top

Re: 1969 Fan Shroud installation
I do exactly as Wayne, remove the upper core suppoet bolts allowing the support to pivot on the lower two blots.
In some cases I take it one step further, often the self adhesive shroud "seals" can be a problem, getting the shroud in place without disturbing those seals. I have removed the radiator and core support, assembled the three peices, (radiator, core support and shroud), and then install as a unit. This is a two man install but the seals will stay put.
Good luck
