I have a 1970 but I believe that the seats that I have are from a different year. The mounting frame does not match with the bolt holes in the car. The seat frame and the holes in the car are the same width apart but the length does not match up. The seams on the seat go horizontal and I believe that they should go vertical. The question is this, if I get knew mounting frames welded on and the seats reupholstered will they look like 1970 seats? Thanks

Re: C3 Seats
Don,
You may be much better off buying a separate set of tracks which are correct, and just bolt them onto your seats. You can then have your seats reupholstered with correct 1970 covers whenever you wish.
There were different seat tracks for some different years, as you have discovered. It's a lot easier to bolt on the right set than weld on brackets. You can likely find a set of tracks at Carlisle.

Re: C3 Seats
Don,
I have a set for two seats that are in pretty good shape. The mounting holes are 16 inches apart. When I bought used seats for my 71, I guess I didn't get the right bottoms because they wouldn't mount in the front and rear holes. I don't know what a 70 takes, I would think they would be like my 71. Send me an e-mail at chasman2952@aol.com if yours are 16 inch holes.- Top
