I have to replace all of my ignition shielding on my 65,does anyone have a preference of one vendor over another as far as quality, cost etc or do all of the vendors get their ignition shielding from the same source.
it is my understanding that it is all of the same origin.
About four years ago shielding was impossible to get. The chrome plater who did the shielding gave upp and a new plater had to be found, you couldn't find the shielding anywhere, we had to deliver a 73 restoration without until the situation was resolved, about four months.
Weather this is still the case or not I am not certain but I would bet it is still true.

I bought the entire ignition shielding including the wing bolts for my 72SB from Doctor Rebuild in 2000. He had every piece in stock, and the top cover was a GM part. Try them at 203-366-1332
George,
Were you satisfied with the Dr.s ignition shielding???
I have purchased numerous parts from him and have always
been satisfied with his products.
Yeah, the parts look great. As I said, the top cover was a GM part, and the plating job on it reflects that fact; GM was not known for shiny show chrome on an underhood part.
The rest of the shielding is a little better, but those are repro parts. Once it was on the car for a while, the repro parts got dirty enough so that you couldn't tell them from the GM top.
Its all still on the car today.

I used Paragon. I contimue to be impressed with the new owners who focus on customer satisfaction.
Doc Rebuilds parts are also excellent as George has stated.
