the weatherstrip has two flat sides, i assume one side goes down to the bottom of the trough and the other vertically around front edge. Is this correct? Also i read somewhere you almost have to take the door off to put the door weatherstrip on right. i sure hope not, any tips? thanks Rich

Re: c2 hood ledge weatherstrip
DOOR MAIN WEATHERSTRIPS CAN BE DONE WITH DOORS HUNG BUT ITS A PAINFUL PROCESS. IF DOORS ALREADY HUNG AND FIT TO THE BODY, I'D PROBABLY INSTALL W/S WITH DOORS HUNG.TIME CONSUMING BUT DO-ABLE. OTHERWISE, ATTACH W/S PRIOR TO HANGING DOORS. MIKE- Top

Rich:
I believe the '63-'64 was cut off in line with the hood pins on the aft end of the hood. Starting in '65 the rubber wrapped around the corner and came forward to be in line with the hood pins. I don't have a new one but it appears the originals are symmetrical, green side up or green side down. Your choice. The replacements I have seen are way too long and will have to be trimmed to some determined length.
I have no idea what the judging guide says. I also have no idea what the AIMS says.
