To all that missed it ....What a GREAT Time. Had my 67 Silver Coupe on NCRS Duntov Display. The people were super to talk to. I understand that we increased NCRS membership way more than expected. Thank you GM and all NCRS staff that worked this event. Too bad this only happens every 50 years......

Re: 50 th at Nashville...GREAT Time
Although, I am glad that I attended the 50th in Nashville, I must say that I was disappointed in the quality of the presentation. I did enjoy seeing all the fine corvettes on display, but I think it was quite apparent that the majority of what was displayed......did not belong to GM. Many of the prototypes and one-offs that Chevrolet brought have been displayed at many other venues, including the Woodward Cruise that is open to the general public. I found the display of Chevrolet new cars and trucks to be completely out of place and the request for my home address, e-mail address and phone number by so many vendors, including Chevrolet to be obscenely commercialized. I realize that Chevrolet had to foot a large bill for this event, but on the other hand GM has made a tidy sum of money on the Corvettes sold in the last 50 years. I found the presentations made by Chevrolet to be generally pitches to sell more Corvettes. I didn't learn anything from the presentations that wasn't already available in print elsewhere.
I found the cruising in Nashville and talking with other Corvette owners to be more enjoyable than the actual show. Even the ZZTop concert was a let-down. Because of Chevrolet's nearly 45-minute delay in starting their portion of the evening's show, I think that ZZTop only played for a total of one hour and 15 minutes. At 10:00 pm the stage lights were out and the group was gone. I think that one thing could have saved the evening, and that would have been if ZZTop had brought along some of their rods and parked them on the field.
Once again, I am glad I went, but honestly feel that it was not up to level that it could have been.- Top

Re: 50 th at Nashville...GREAT Time
GENE AND DENNY: LEA AND I HAD A GREAT TIME IN NASHVILLE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SAT. NITE CONCERT: ALTHOUGH zz top MAY BE RODDERS, THEY DIDN'T PLAY MUSIC, THEY SIMPLY MADE NOISE. THANK GOD , AS A SEMINAR PARTICIPANT, I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TICKETS TO SUFFER THRU THE FIRST 5 OR SO "BLASTINGS" THAT EMINATED FROM THEIR STAGE. TEMPTATIONS WERE GREAT. WHY GM SAW FIT TO HAVE ZZ TOP IN THE CITY OF COUNTRY MUSIC IS MYSTERIOUS TO ME. DOUBT ANY OF US WILL BE AROUND FOR THE 100TH ANIV. , INCLUDING ZZ TOP(GOD SPARE OUR GRANDKIDS FROM SUCH EAR BLASTING GARBAGE. sTRICTLY SUBJECTIVE OBSERVATION, BUT HALF THE AUDIENCE WAS "OUT OF THERE" BY 5TH NUMBER. MIKE PS, THANKS GM, FOR ALL THE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE 50TH.- Top

Re: 50 th at Nashville...GREAT Time
chevy tried to go the middle road, brooks and dunn would be to mild for some and kiss would be too wild for others so they got the "little ol band from texas". gibbons is one of the best rock and roll "gitar" players around and they did have the "temptations" on friday for the "older crowd".- Top

Re: 50 th at Nashville...GREAT Time
While I liked ZZ Top a lot (although I found their show Saturday too rehearsed and zero spontaneity), I can't understand how you can have a party for Corvette and have ZERO car songs. Even though there are only a couple left alive, I think a little Beach Boys with "Shut Down" and such would have been a lot more appropriate to the 50th than ZZ Top sans their cars.
To keep on topic of technical discussion, can anyone tell me how much duct tape and green garbage bags it took to keep you semi-dry in a 72 convertible on Thursday evening?- Top

Re: 50 th at Nashville...GREAT Time
After a 24 hour drive back to Montreal, I came up with the same opinion. But I
must congratulate NCRS on their great presenters and tech sessions and all the organizers-you did a great job. Took advantage of the perfect venue to promote
our organisation with a professional image.- Top

Re: 50 th at Nashville...GREAT Time
I seen lots of pictures taken at the 50th at Nashville and the NCRS display was great. Did anyone see any pictures on the web of the Nashville 50th? The NCM covered their event on their web site but no pic's from Nashville.Lyle
