Hi guys--
I had noticed that some of the screws that hold my hood grill to the car had stripped threads, and couldn't find a repair kit anywhere. The only fix was to drill and tap to the next size screw or buy a Helicoil kit. I decided to try my own idea out, and I picked up a few brass inserts, and had some 8-32 screws plated. The idea works like a champ. All I did was drill the stripped holes out, press in the brass insert, and reassemble the grill to the car. Now it still uses the same 8-32 fillister head screw as original, and the repair is invisible. I have a bunch of these parts left over, so if anyone out there has the same problem with their 68-72 Vette, email me offline. chev60bad@aol.com
