    Re: Seat belt latch refinishing

Refinishing the buckles may depend on your plans for the car. My 65 coupe is a driver so I refinished a set of saddle buckles for my coupe myself. I purchased a used set of belts, that someone had made a half-hearted attempt at repainting sometime in the past. I was able to sand down and find some of the origninal paint and matched it as close as I could. I then sanded and primed the buckles after masking off the chrome. The bowtie emblems can be purchased at several of the corvette mail order companies. While they might not pass a flight test, they serve me well.

On the other hand if you are planning on a full top flight restoration, you probably need to have them redone professionally. The two places that are mentioned most often on the forum are the following:

Seatbelt City - Charlie Santorelli at Seatbelt Sity in New Jersey 908.719.2354

    Ssnake-Oyl

Ssnake-Oyl has a website you can check out. Try researching the archives for comments on the two with regard to quality of restoration and service. Good Luck.
