Having just joined NCRS at Nashville (Corvette 50th). I now have a question regarding the right rear chrome cover spark plug cover on a 1977 VIN 31218. Long ago I removed this cover(3980192) and re-assembled according the assembly manual, pages B01, sheet 35,Spark plug shields, and page 6L, sheet 2,exhaust heat valve.... These pages show the long spacer on the rear closest to the exhaust manifold ,then the chrome cover, then the heat valve mounting bracket..I noticed at the show that on Vito's Black 77 the chrome spark plug cover appears to be straight(parallel) to the valve cover above, while mine juts out at the rear..where did I go wrong????Thanks Ken

Re: C3 spark plug covers
Amendment..I now know these chrome covers are called "Radio Interference Shields" and amend my question to: In order, from the exhaust manifold out , what is the order of assembly of brackets and spacers??? I have it assembled as long spacer,RFI mounting bracket, Heat valve mounting bracket. This is the same as the front assembly ,except I have a shorter spacer on the front .. This is for the right rear assembly RFI shield.. the way I have it the RFI cover doesn't look straight, juts out at rear...thanks from a new member ....ken- Top

Re: C3 spark plug covers
Ken You may want to e-mail Vito direct as you almost need to look at a 77 to find the correct set up. His e-mail address should be in the contacts.Lyle
