I have been following the e-bay auction of the Blk/tan/tan '69 L-88 w/"matching numbers". This car and its "funny numbers" was the subject of a thread last week. The bidding had gotten up to almost $50K (Reserve not met) when Kruse pulled the auction. Hmmmmmmm. Wonder why. Look for yourself e-bay - 2421363275.
Nice $35K car, with those numbers, but not north of $50K.
A friend, who knows the car well, tried numerous times last year to have the car removed from eBay auctions. They ignored him. I'm actually very surprised that it was puled this time.
I'd bet anyone $10 it shows up again.
BTW, it IS a very nice car. I've seen it and sat in it. It's just a fake with bad dates and a mediocre at best engine stamp. I'd agree that for $35k it would make one great cruise car for the local shows.

After reading that the car was questioned at Bloomington a few years back, I e-mailed Kruse and asked for supporting documentation based on the Bloomington info. Witin a day, it was off eBay. Hope that helped make the decision!!
