Car in question is a 71 big block 4 speed that currently has a lakewood scatershield on it and i have the motor out and want to put in the 621 stock bellhousing. Tje clutch fork ball stud in the lakewood is longer than the one that paragon sells and lists that is 1.5 inches long. what is the correct ball stud length and is it available from the dealer. A part number would really help if it is different than the one paragon sells

Re: Clutch fork ball length
Try your Chevy dealer first; a couple of years ago, I was amazed to find that Scoggin-Dickey in Lubbock, TX had one IN STOCK! That part was probably used on a lot of old Chevies.
The original GM part number was 3887159 (All 66-72 Corvettes). That was superceded to a nine digit part number which your Chevy dealer should be able to cross reference. As I recall, the replacement part is identical to the original except that the overall length was just slightly different (1/32"?).- Top

Re: Clutch fork ball length
Go to the Centerforce Web site. Look up their clutch application for your car, and find their Technical Service bulletin regarding the stud length. The clutch fork ball stud for a scattershield would be different than that of the stock bell housing.- Top
