This wish actually came true for...
... 67-73 Mustang owners. The 1" computer tapes of the original factory orders turned up, and were translated into modern format a few years ago. A lot of well-optioned cars are now revealed to be parts collections, as these records even indicate formerly unprovable claims such as styled steel wheels. The outfit who has these records can povide a variety of services, up to and including a framed replica of the original window sticker, and a breakdown of the rarity, such as "there were 23,000 brittany blue coupes, of which 4,000 were GT's, of which 800 had the 4-speed transmission, of which 20 had the comfortweave upholstery, of which one had the 8-tack stereo. This is that car."Comment
