Rear Differential for a 71

I have just completed a rebuild of the rear differential on my 71 and am looking to find out what color, if any that it came from the factory with.
If it was painted could you provide any help as to where I might be able to buy the correct color of paint.

It wasn't painted - just natural as-cast.

As John says - as cast. I use a light coat of satin sheen Krylon to keep the rust at bay, and it is barely visible. For prep, I use a bead cabinet and let the casting "age" a bit after careful cleanup prior to assembly, giving it a slightly aged look versus bright bead cleaning finish...Craig
