I need some help in identifying the engine I pulled out of my 62.
Casting number 3959512, cast date K 27 0. Pad was stamped A 1957 9T V0112XCB.
One head is 3927186 (LT1 head?) and the other's cast number is 3991492.
Just trying to determine if its worth saving or freeing up my engine stand.
Thanks in advance.
I couldn't find 3959512 in my limited library, but assuming (I know) that the 62-67 use is correct, the cast date of November 27, 1960 or 1970 (K 27 0) doesn't make sense. I also don't show any reference to XCB. There is a CXB, which is for a BB, and a CKB for 350's in various vehicles (non-Corvette) in 72-74.
The V0112 indicates a Flint engine assembled on January 12. That's the limit of my info.
