What is the correct choke rod clip for a 1970 LS-5 Rochester carburetor? The 1970-72 CTIM&JG (3rd Ed. pg 58) shows one style clip for all 1970 and another for 1971-72. The one on my original carb is an "E" clip altogether different from either of the two illustrated on page 58. On page 83 of Dr. Rebuild's awesome catalog, there are four types of choke rod clips sold. The ones illustrated on page 83 show the two in the JG and the "E" clip for only 1970 454. Does the good Dr. know something that the JG failed to catch in this revision? The sure truth is out there, but will it please step forward?!!

I learned a long time ago that the Good Doctor is a source of Corvette knowledge to be reckoned with. I always think twice before I take a position differing from his. However, in this case, I think he's incorrect. I believe that the correct clip for your 70 LS-5 is the one identified as "X" in his catalog. Anyway, you don't have to agree with his application information to buy the correct one from him---just order his number 3752119. For a dollar, you can't go wrong. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
