My '70 LT-1 is in need of a new rear spring..mine is beyond flat. Does anybody have any recommendations as to a vendor to get one from? Eaton Spring wants $160.00 plus shipping, but I've seen them for $119.00 elsewhere. Are they the same 9-leaf springs, or are there different manufacturers? So far, Paragon seems to be my best bet, but I wanna make sure I get the right part, not some cheap junk. Thanks in advance!!

'70 Rear Spring
Jeremy,
Eaton has one of the better repro springs, but having said that, the end treatment on leaves 2-9 of the Eaton spring is noticably different from the end treatment on your original '70 spring. To the best of my knowledge, no repro spring vendor uses an end-treatment that is a spot-on match for original springs. If judging is an issue, then your only option is to restore an original spring, perhaps using a new repro main leaf. If judging is not an issue, then Eaton's spring is a reasonable choice. I'm sure there are other vendors with decent springs as well, but I can't vouch for them based on personal experience.

Re: '70 Rear Spring
I was at Paragon a couple of weeks ago, and they have a HUGE collection of used 9-leaf rear springs (the 2-1/4"-wide variety), if that's what you're looking for; most appeared to be suitable for restoration - $100.00, U-pick-'em.- Top
