"Stingray" Script Adhesive/Blackout

Where can I get an adhesive that closely resembles the original adhesive which secures the "Stingray" script of my 1970 Corvette? Also, exactly where does the adhesive go on the script?

What color blackout goes on this script? Does anyone know if there is a magic marker available somewhere that can be used to touch up these side emblems?

My recollection is the emblems were originally backed with protective tape and underneath was a thin coating of clear tack adhesive. If I'm right, just about any clear adhesion agent like weatherstip glue will get the job done.

As for the blackout on the sides of the script, a spritz with semi-gloss black lacquer and a surface wipe with a shop towel soaked in lacquer thinner to remove overspray ought to get you back to the emblem's original look.
