    1965 brake rotors

    Members,
    Received my Fourth Edition Judging Guide yesterday. I can't seems to find information about painting the non-machined surfaces of the disc brake rotors. You know, the finned area, outside around emergency brake drum, area around hub on front rotors, etc. If painted, please indicate most original paint and number, such as Krylon #xxxx. Thanks, Gene

      they were unpainted. there may have been a rust-preventative but i don't believe any paint. mike

          I have 3 NOS 65-68 rotors/hubs (not for sale) and they are unpainted. I am certain that was also the way they were installed in the factory...Craig

              Gene-----

              No portion of any 65-89 Corvette rotors were originally painted.

              By the way, the "hat" section of 90-95 ZR-1 rotors, front and rear, were aluminized and the "hat" section of 1996 with Grand Sport or Collector's Edition were painted.
