Yes. Use a GM #3884598 pressure plate assembly with a Sachs or LUK friction disc. The GM disc is discontinued, but the last available GM disc for your application was manufactured by Sachs and is identical to the one that you can purchase from them.

Alternatively, you can use a complete Sachs or LUK pressure plate and disc assembly. This will work perfectly and will be more economical than the above-referenced.

Jack: The MA6 clutch option for your car would be a good one. It is a dual disc clutch, less pedal effort and really hooks up. I have it in my '71 LS6 and is a wonderful invention. I believe you could get parts at Crane's Corvettes in San Diego.

        Jack,

I just replaced my '66 L36's clutch with an LUK unit. I bought the parts through Dial-a-clutch online for $119, plus about $35 bux shipping (to Seattle).

It's smooth and has pretty light pedal pressure as compared to the clutch that was in the car. I did opt not to use the plastic-collared release bearing, and spent $20 for an all metal unit.

        Have fun!

Thanks everyone for the recommendations. I noticed that dial-a-clutch offers a LUK Pro-Gold with a bit more clamping power, any thoughts on the use of this clutch? Is the standard LUK good enough?

If you want a clutch that will hold all of your power, dont buy anything other than a centerforce dual friction, will cost you 300 bucks for disk, pressure plate and throwout bearing. Easy pedal pressure and great holding power. I have the motor out of my 71 LS6 and will put another centerforce back in it. Nobody can tell it is not the stock piece, buy it from summit
