Purchased "3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive" to install weatherstrip on my 67 coupe. Would like to hear from someone who has used this product on clean coat to verify that product will not harm the paint.

While I can't speak to your paint in particular, I will tell you that it will damage Lacquer paint! I would strongly reccomend only installing weatherstrip after pulling the part and having it on a bench. I tape all surrounding areas to protect them before applying the glue. I got in a hurry a couple of years a go and attempted to put a decklid weatherstrip on a C1 while on the car, and the weatherstrip fell off while I was setting it and landed glue side down on my new paint, I could have cried! I ended up having to repaint the trunk lid!

John I also found that the "Yellow" weatherstrip adhesive not only "moved" my clear coat but affected the color coat beneath. My Brother owns the shop that did the paint job so we called in his paint rep who said it shouldn't have affected the paint but it did. He didn't know why!
