C1 Paint

Hi,

I am almost ready to paint the interior of my 1961 Roman Red Corvette. Where the interior colors the same as the exterior?

I went to autocolorlibary.com to look up the interior paint code. The only selection was for Chevrolet with an asterik that included Corvettes. There was no seperate selection for interior paint.

The chart indicated the paint as Duracryl Acrylic Lacquer, number 505 (could of been 506).

Is this correct?

If you are using lacquer ,use the same paint as the exterior just use a faster thinner and dont buff it. the int. & ext were the same color just different gloss levels . Bill

Bill,

The exterior was painted when I got the car. It was painted with Urethane (no clear coat). I was considering using Lacquer for the interior. I was worried about matching the paint color.

If they used the correct formula you should be ok. just use a fast dry thinner. in dupont that would be 3613 or 3608. it will dry to a nice semi gloss finish.

Would you recommend staying with the Urethane or doing the interior in Lacquer?

What has everyone else done?
