To install or remove the wiper transmissions, does the alum. dash insert have to be removed and on the driver side how does one get around the clutch/brake support without disconnecting everything? What is the best way to install and remove the wiper transmissions?

C1-Wiper Transmission Removal
I was lucky. My car was stripped of the instrument panel, defroster ducts, hoses, radio, cowl vent lever, etc. The only problem I had was getting a wrench on the driver's side left nut to remove that transmission. My transmissions were frozen, and I was told I would never get the cables to stretched long enough to reconnect to the wiper mount plate pulleys. So I had them re-done, and while I was at it had the plate refinished and the bearings replaced. It's better to do it all at once when you have it apart than have to go through it again. Good luck!- Top

Dennis - Don't believe you need to remove the aluminum dash insert for the RH side. I did remove the package tray and the heater cover to gain some space.
The drivers transmission is not so easy. I removed the steering wheel and driver's seat to get some mobility. A lot of patience, lots of new words, and several disconects in the under dash wiring. Just have to reach up, over, and around the brake pedal assy. The wiper cable hookup is also challenging. Good luck...Dick- Top
