When I purchased my 64 300hp it had an aftermarket intake.
I just found and purchased, at a very good price, a pristine 1964 300hp intake, However the engine assembly date is the same day as the manifold cast date. Is this a problem and if so what would be the judging penalty?
Re: C2 Matching maniflod cast & eng assy dates.
I think that would be very suspect, with the same day. However, they did really push the engines through fast in the engine plant. SB's in particular. My 67 original engine was cast at 8AM one day, and assembled the following day on the pad stamp...which was verified by Al Grenning. This worried me until I learned that the daily going rate was high on these engines. However, the same day would be pretty tough I would think, maybe possible though. Craig

Thanks for the input, I suspect it will be hard to get passed the judging. A previous owner has the manifold however he used it on one of his vichles and was not interested in selling. With the new manifold, I may be able to convince him with a little cash, to swap.
