    More battery trouble for 67

Hi Guys, I posted a message earlier in the week about our trouble with the battery for our 67. Thank you for the many responses and help. We now have another problem. We ordered a new battery and received it today (5/27). When we opened it up we saw that it was date coded on the top. My question is about the date coding on 67 batteries. The build date of the car is F11 (January 11, 1967). The VIN is 194377S108343. I need to know what the correct date code is for our car, is it 6LT? When the new battery came we saw the date code on the top of the battery. It read as follows: 6MV9? What is "M" here. I looked in the 67 judging manual that the previous owner gave us and he wrote "6LT" in the book. Also the battery that is in the car now has NO date coding on the top of the battery like the new one. Is there another place where the date coding could be stamped. I looked at old judging sheets and the car was not penalized for anything. The judging manual said "(A for Jan, B for Feb etc.)" The way this reads "M" would be the 13th month and there is no 13th month. We are concerned as we have yet to be at a judged NCRS event with this car, and would like to keep up the reputation that this car has made for itself. Thank you for any help. If there is more info needed to find the date code please EMail me and I will respond ASAP. Thanks for your help.

Hello Chuck; I believe that batteries are stamped in a Year, Month, Source format. 6LT would be 1966, November, T=Muncie, Indiana. 6MV9----, I'm not so sure. 1966, December, V=Olathe, Kansas, and, I'm not sure about the extra 9. I don't believe that they used the "I" in the month sequence, thus M would be December. Hope this helps somewhat. I'm curious about the "9" also. Maybe someone who knows 67's better can elaborate. By the way, as far as sources go, X=New Brunswick, N.J., T=Muncie, Ind., S=Anaheim, Cal., and V=Olathe, Kansas. Chuck Gongloff
