Part 1...What are the specs for front and rear alignment on my 1964 convertible assuming I will be using repro knockoff wheels with 205.75.15 radials. I have heard from time to time that when using radials, you might consider modifying the alignment specs..caster camber toe etc....
Part 2....Is it true that OEM shims did not have a hole in them..if so my repos holes (on the tab area) need to be covered..who sells the proper non-hole type a-arm shim?
Complete factory-recommended specs will be found in your factory service manual. GM did not change the front wheel alignment specs when Corvettes went to radial tires. However, they did change the rear wheel alignment specs for 1975, 2 years after the change to radial tires. These specs are:
camber: limits -1 to +1; desired -1/2
toe-in: 1/16 to 1/8
The above rear settings are what I would use for your 64 with radial tires.
I am not familiar with any front alignment shims which have holes in the tab area. Originals used a "tapered down" tab with no holes.
All rear alignment shims have holes in the outboard end. Original shims for your car had holes in both ends. I don't recommmend these, AT ALL. Use the type with slotted inner end.
