I recently purchased repro hardtop recievers that are marked LH and RH. The problem is when I install the LH in the driver side and the RH in the passenger side the indexing dimple does not line up correctly to the existing hole in the fiberglass. It does line up correctly when I install the RH reciever in the driver side and the LH in the passenger side. In this configuration, the slight arch (and point) of the reciever points inward toward the shifter. Myself and others I have consulted consider LH to be the drivers side. Adding more confusion, a friend of mine's 57 has the arch pointing toward the inside. Do I disregard the LH/RH? Is there something I am missing here? Can anyone help?

Re: 1956-57 hardtop reciever
Strangely, many people call the hands backwards as looking toward the front of the car, the drivers side is the right side rather than the left as it should be. After many confusions with people, I always say drivers side or passengers side. Use them however they fit!- Top
