    C3 Door switches

Are the door jamb switches at the rear of the door supposed to be spring actuated. The ones at the front side of the door that actuate the courtesy lights are spring actuated. Maybe my rear ones are worn out because they stay "in" all the time. Are these for coutesy lights or for the alarm system? Thanks

I have a 68 with no alarm and I have the rear switches. I think they may be for the "Door Ajar" warning light.

      Don and Kevin-----

The plunger switches on the lower rear door jamb area are for the "door ajar" light and, on cars so-equipped, also the alarm system. These switches were definitely spring loaded. They are not the same switch as the forward door jamb-mounted courtesy switch light, but they operate the same way.

You should save your old switches if original as some owners have found ways to use the old pin with the letters, on new switches. Lyle

          Are the "SX" pins reproduced?

The only reproductions I have seen are blank on the head and have a diameter larger than the original "SX" ones.
