Paint On The Engine Pad - Safe Way To Remove?

Help, my motor guy accidently got some paint on my engine pad. What is the safest method to remove without damaging the broach marks.

    Thanks,

    Jace -

Lacquer thinner on a rag - don't use anything abrasive.

      Jace-----

Use a solvent which will disolve the dried paint or use paint remover. Glycol brake fluid might work well, too. Don't use anything abrasive; you shouldn't have to anyway. Don't worry if some of the paint remains in the stamped characters; that's how it usually was on the original engines---the engines were painted and the wet paint wiped off the stamp pad. So, paint often remained in the stamped characters.
