    C1- C2 Wheel Identification??

I have a steel wheel with this stamping 15" x 5 1/2" k, 63 and the Kelsey Hayes logo. Could anybody tell me its original use? Also could it be used with the dog dish type caps?

    Peter,

Dog Dish hubcaps require three nubs around the outside perimeter of the raised rib surrounding the bolt hole pattern to secure them in place.

63 Corvette rims do not have these nubs.

If your wheel has them, it's from a passenger car. If not, you have a Corvette rim.

I believe '63 Corvette rims do have the 3 raised nubs on the spider. They will not have the 4 raised nubs on the outer rim which were common to '62 and earilier.

By Golly, I think you are right Dennis!!

Should have researched a little before I pulled the trigger. I found a pic in Nolan's book that did show the nubs on the spider.

Also appears to 4 of them rather 3

        Nice catch!

Dip: i stayed up way too late tonite to watch a re-run of you on CNN.you taking any meds for the stutter problem you developed while on CNN? Seriously, the CNN clip should help foster the continued success of the BEST hobby car club in existence.Too bad Squirt wasn't a part of it, not to mention the absence of Sam Folz,Carl Strohm,Howard Kirsch,Roby Price and all the others who've contributed unselfishly over the years. Am sure I've missed others but I hope they all looked down from above and enjoyed the success of NCRS since their departures.Ya did good over the years, ya big dummy. mike
