    6L vs V8 Bellhousings

Hello friends, I would like to know about any compatibility between a 6L Chevy bellhousing and the V8 bellhousing (3970010, 76 vette engine). It is my understanding that they are different but, just in case... Thanks

    Re: 6L vs V8 Bellhousings

    Roberto------

The 194, 230, and 250 cid L6 engines use the same bellhousings as V-8s. The GM #3858403 (12-3/4" flywheel) and the GM #3899621 (14" flywheel) were used on both L6 and V8 engines.

The only V-6 that uses the same bellhousings as the V-8 is the 4.3L used in trucks. Other V-6s use a different bellhousing not interchangeable with V-8s.
