    67 Odometer Cable

Is the barrel of the 1967 odometer cable brass or Aluminum? I currently have an Aluminum one. If it is brass (hope not) does anyone know where I can get an original?

They were aluminum (or some other "silver" metal). Definitely not brass. I don't know if brass was ever originally used for a Corvette, but if it was, it ended well before 1967.

I wonder why Paragon sells the brass barrel for late 66-67 and Al. for E66??

Well, I assume that Paragon has researched it, so I may be incorrect on this one. I just never recall seeing a brass speedo cable fitting on a mid year. However, maybe the ones I've seen were SERVICE cables. Or, I wasn't paying enough attention.

My original was aluminum / silver. The replacement that I purchased from Doc Rebuild was the same, a GM service replacement.

Joe: I think Keith is asking about the trip reset cable, not the speedo cable. -Karl

Agree with joe: never seen a brass critter on any of our multiple C-2s( earliest 63 was vin. about 4000) and it was aluminum. mike
