Cleaning up a 69. There is a small,1/16", vacuum line laying in the console housing. It is long enough to reach the rear of the console and originates in front somewhere. Any idea where this thing connects? I really hate to disassemle everything looking for it. You know what a pita those little nuts that hold the instrument cluster and console are.

The vacuum line which you describe provides the vacuum signal to the rear plenum vacuum actuator. This actuator controls the opening and closing of the rear plenum ventilator doors. You will note these if you look at the upper rear of the luggage compartment. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 69 Console vacuum line?
I found it shortly after posting this question. When I removed the park brake console, there layed the end of the hose. I had forgotten about the vent back there. I haven't worked on one of these for several years. It's been kind of fun.- Top
