Hi,
I'm restoring my 1962 Corvette, and am now investigating the transmission. I'm pretty sure it's not original. The tailshaft is marked 10K-7 and has a casting date of 12-30-65. In the august issue of Corvette Fever there's an article about the T10 transmission. Reading this I can determine that it at least looks like a T10-7B tailshaft (supposedly used in '60 trough '61). But what about the casting date?
The gear case is marked T10-1B and has an additional casting information of "C7". Close to the side cover there are some stamped information: WD1262.
Does anyone know what all this means? Is it a Corvette transmission at all? By the way, there's a name etched on the housing: "Brian Chauncey". Maybe somone out there knows who that is. The gear box probably belonged to him once.
