C3 - Need help with carb/intake man. ID

I have been going over the casting numbers and dates on my recently purchased 72 (base motor/automatic). Build date is Sept 15, 1971. I am happy that all of the small details seem to be correct, with the exception of the carb and the intake manifold. The Rochester appears to be a 1973 model (date code 2043), with a part no. of 7043202 FS. The intake manifold has a casting number of 340234R. Other numbers present are GM22 and L173 (December 17,1973?). can anyone help to ID these parts? Also, does anyone know if they are functionaly identical to the original parts (jet sizes, etc.)

PS. I will need to locate an intake manifold 6263751 with a casting date of around Aug, 1971 and a carb with a similar date code and P/N 7042202 DJ. Let me know if you have one!

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike,

    Carb:

    #7043202 FS:
70-Prefix for all Rochesters built from 1970-1975
4-Decade produced (in this case 1970-75)
    3-1973
    2-Quadrajet 4-bbl, Federal Stds.
0-Division of GM the carb was produced for (0,1,& 2 are all for Chevrolet)
2-Even numbers indicate automatics, odd numbers indicate manuals
This carb was produced for any/all 1973 Chevrolet passenger cars with the 350/175hp engine with automatic trans., and for Corvettes with the 350/190hp engine and automatic trans.

    #2043:
204-Produced on the 204th day of production
    3-1973

    Intake:

    #340234 R:
I could not find any information on this part number.

    #L173:
    L-December
    17-17th day
    3-1973

Mike - I have a old Rochester carb reference which tells me:

1973 Chevrolet - carb numbers 7043212 and 213 fit "Hi-Perf" Camaro and Corvette, while numbers 7043202 and 203 fit "all other 350's." (202 auto, and 203 manual trans)

      ...also, 7043202 fits 1973 Chevy/GMC truck, K-10 and K-20, 350 ci.

...also, the 7043202 uses a "73" main jet and a "44" primary metering rod.

      -----------

My NCRS guide shows the carb number for your 72 as 704-2!-202 (my emphasis), or a 7042902 for California cars. My Rochester reference agrees with the aplications - and shows a 74/45 jet-rod combo for both the 202 and 902 carbs.

      WHEW!

        Hmm...

Nobody, including myself, seems to be able to figure out what that intake manifold number is. All my references come up blank. However, on the web I was able to find a place called "Tracy Performance" that lists a FEW of them in stock! I still don't know what the manifold is, but obviously you don't have the only one.
