I'm getting ready to PV my '73 L-82 4spd. at the Boston N.E.Regional. I need clarication regarding the '73 & 74 judging and the 73 - 77 PV guide vs. the '73 Chevrolet Service Manual. The judging guides state the TCS system is activated in the shifter is placed in third and fourth gears. The GM service manual states "high forward gear". The system on my car is only activated in 4th. The TCS trans switch is engaged by the 3/4th slector shaft which is crescent shaped which only contact in 4th gear. I'm concerned because 'by the book', the car would fail in this test. Does anyone have '73 experience regarding this or PVing a '73 4spd. Regards, Tim

Re: 1973 TCS Clarification
Tim----
As far as I know, the TCS system only engaged/disengaged in 4th gear. This system was engaged/disengaged in third gear only in 3 speed manual cars. Of course, after 1969, no Corvettes were equipped with 3 speed manual transmissions, but other cars were. That's why the service manual probably says "high forward gear".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
