1969 L88 Plug Wire Clip

At the 2003 National Convention I noticed the L88 cars had a clip mounted to the outside right valve cover that routed just one of the plug wires. It is not, that I have seen, indicated in the assembly manual. Also, I did not see this clip on any other 69 engine applications. Does anyone know if this clip is applicable to the L88? If so, anybody know where one could be located?
Oh yeah, my green L88 was the only one that didn't have one.

I don't think that the clip you mention was unique to L-88s. I believe that it was used on other big blocks and some small blocks, as well. For big blocks, I think that its use ended about 1968 or 69. Anyway, the part number MAY be GM #3744409. If so, it's still available from GM.

Interesting that you mention the clip was probably discontinued at some point in 68 or 69. My 69 is very late with a serial # of 36223. Perhaps that would be a valid reason for mine being absent. Thank you the GM part #.

Hi Mark,
My 69 L88 (#27107) does not have that single-wire clip either. I believe it to be correct, but of course I'm not the original owner so I can't say for sure.

If it is the clip I am thinking of - mounts to the outboard forward-most valve cover bolt - I have seen it on some 1970 large motors.

On the cars I saw, they all mounted on the second bolt back from the front (outside). Thanx for the info.
