    Re: Orin Dale Pearman R.I.P.

I first met Dale at Bloomington in 1985 through my cousin Steve. Thereafter whenever I attended a Corvette event from coast to coast, I noticed that Dale was there also. He would drive to and from these events far and wide. After one Boston meet he visited my warehouse. If I remember correctly he was in his driver: a coil over FI 5 or 6 speed 1962. Remember that picture he posted of the judging certificates wall papering his lavatory? He was a gem. R.I.P. buddy. We are all better for having known you.

      Goodbye, my friend.

I enjoyed hearing about you, finally meeting you and then spending time with you at many events, and the camaraderie we shared. Thanks for everything.

I will never forget you, or our last meeting at Carlisle.

I will remember Dale as I seen him at the Super 8 in St Charles in 2002 doing what he enjoyed. He was sitting on a bench outsde the front door talking Corvettes with his friends after a day at the show. Lyle

          Re: Orin Dale Pearman R.I.P.

After "meeting" Dale on this Board, I was fortunate enough to meet him in person and spend an evening of dinner and Corvette talk with him at the Western Regional at Scottsdale in 2001.

It never occurred to me that I would not have another opportunity to swap stories and technical opinions with Dale, again. The loss of that opportunity will be missed by me and many others.

          RIP, Dale!

Dale was the gentle giant on our judging teams at "Cypress Gardens". He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Rev, Zora Wants To Talk To You!

I have only been in the hobby for 3 years now and Dale's name came up early on. He actually lectured me the first time! His advice was priceless and he was always willing to help in any way. Rest In Peace my friend. Better go now as Mr. Duntov wants to pick your brain!! Thanks again and all your letters will remain in my favorites til this old PC finally crashes for good!!!

Will miss seeing Dale running the local streets in his 62. Thanks again Dale for your hospitality in hosting a gathering of NCRS members at your "Church".

                        Re: Orin Dale Pearman R.I.P.

Bill, Dale confided the "the dumbest question in the Corvette hobby" to me once as he probably did to many others. It had little to do with Corvettes, and then only indirectly to the Corvettes parts business. It was pretty much meaningless to me since I didn't know, or even know of, the individuals involved. But, it did illustrate Dale's ability to find wry humor in the twists and turns of life.

Over the last couple of days, I have reflected on the good times we had here with Dale. His explanation of the ballast resistor acting as an analog computer comes to mind as one of the more memorable. It was interesting to hear Dale and these eggheads going at it about the ballast resistor, with Dale explaining its operation as an "analog computer" in highly technical terms most of us couldn't understand. We weren't quite sure if Dale was telling us the true story...or if he wasn't blowing smoke up our pants leg and grinning the whole time. We are really going to miss him.

I hope 62 owners will honor Dale and remind us by getting and displaying on their cars his personalized license tags:

                          VAROM
                          VAROOM
                          VAROOOOM

                          Remember, he drove his Corvettes.

                          We miss you Dale...RIP

What a guy. I never met Dale, but I was often entertained and always educated any time I had the pleasure to cross his path on this site and others. It was an honor to be a part of the conversation. He will be sorely missed.

Well said Joe, I will always remember and cherish meeting and sharing dinner with Dale serveral years back in Bloomington and Junipers...what a character. I saw him for a few fleeting moments in St Charles last year as well before classes. While I knew him little on a personal level, one thing was very clear, he immediately accepted everyone as a friend. And I truly will miss his witt and personality here and on the VH boards. RIP Dale.......Craig
