    Re: 1963 Build Date

    Rick,

Your car's build date is on a plate, which is located on a steel beam near/under the glove box area. For 63, there should be two plates, one with the VIN, and one commonly referred to as a "trim tag". The trim tag contains the build date, exterior color, and interior color/cloth. The build date is usually a single alpha charater followed by two numeric characters.

The closest I could come with the info you provided is that it was built sometime in July 1963, very near the end of the month. Perhaps the final week, but that's just an 'guesstimate'.

Richard: The trim tag will tell you the body build date. If you are looking for the car's finally assembly date, www.ncrs-wi.org has a birthday calculator that will provide an estimate based on your VIN. Best regards, Karl

            Re: Birthday calculator

            Karl,
Thank you for sharing the great link to the birthday calculator. I used it today to find out the birthday of my '65. Interesting, my calucations were very close to the day that the calculator determined.

I owe you a beverage of choice for saving me buying the Birthday Book for $10.

            Thanks again,
            Gene
