    1960 Questions

When the speedometer cable comes through the firewall on the engine side, is it suppose to be bent at a sharp angle downward and "wedged" behind the ignition shielding? I don't see any other way to route it.

Why is one hole larger than the other on the top of the front engine mount bracket? The hole on the passenger side is larger on my bracket. The bolt diameter appears to be the same on both sides.

What type/size of firewall grommet is used to route the radio ground wire through the firewall?

What type/size firewall grommet do I need for the wiring harness (generator/voltage regulator harness)? I tried to figure out which grommets to purchase from Dr. Rebuild, but could not based on catalog descriptions.

    Joe...

The speedo cable passe thru two clips that are riveted to the body located in the transmission tunnel. The entry grommet is a 7/8" dia. small hole. No wedging or sharp bending is required.

The radio gromment is also a 7/8"dia.as is the tach cable, parking lights, ignition harness, fuel vent line, and gas tank meter.

The main harness uses 1-3/8"dia gromments located at the firewall and fender bracket

    Oil/wiper cable uses a (4) four gromment

Windshield washer hoses a (2) two gromment

    Hood release gromments are rect.

Trunk drains & fuel overflow use 5/8"dia

And there is a Heater hose gromment
Gromment sets are sold by several vette suppliers
