    1962 electrical problem

Just recently put in a new wiring harness. Now when I press the brake pedal the gas guage goes over to full. Also I when turn the turn signals on the gas guage jumps every time the signal flashes.Have tried new turn signal switch, still same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Earl - Very thoroughly check every ground attachment on your car. After you do that, check them again. There will be some gauge spiking on a '62 due to inadaquate (sp) rear grounding from the factory, but what you describe is over the line. Best, Dennis

If you can't find the bad ground run a separate ground wire from the sending unit to some inconspicuos place on the frame.

That's probably the ultimate fix for all C1's.

          Earl...

Adding the Tank ground sure worked for me.
