    C1 (62) Shifter Floorpan Cutout

I am looking for a drawing, photo, or description indicating the size and position of the 4-speed shifter floorpan cutout in a C1 (62). Someone chopped a big hole in my floorpan. Probably to remove the shifter from aboce. Now I am replacing the transmission tunnel, but the replacement panel has no hole. Any help would be appreciated...Ed

    Ed...

If you can locate were the shifter console plate screws into the two retainer nuts, the plate can be used as a guide. I well overlay my 61' tonight and let you know some dimensions.

Thanks, Dennis. The transmission tunnel ashtray well is still there, and I think the screw holes for the plate...Ed

        Ed...

If you insert the ash tray into the shifter console plate, then seat the ash tray into the tunnel, the console plate makes a perfect template for marking the cutout. I was surprised how close they match up.

          Hi Dennis,

I will need to get a new console plate, as someone sawed mine in half (front to back), leaving the ashtray half, but not the shifter hole half. Working on these old wrecks is sure a lot of fun.

If you have your console plate out, could you fax me a templete showing the outline of the ashtray hole and the shifter hole. My fax number is (609)466-4116. Thanks...Ed
