    BW T-10 Parts ID

I have a BW T-10 with a tail case showing it as a T-7B. It has two mounting flanges. Date is Dec 61 and I think a Vette trans should be a 7D vs 7B and have 1 mounting flange. Can anyone tell me what I have?

The -7B extension housings were used for the 1960 and 1961 model years for all T-10s, Corvettes and otherwise. The date is a bit unusual inasmuch as it would indicate a piece used for the 1962 model year. However, it's possible that it was a SERVICE extension housing or part of a SERVICE tranmission assembly. Of course, it's also possible that early 1962s did use the -7B extension housing.

Thnaks, Joe. I was wondering if it could possibly be corect for a 62 with a Jan build date. It's currently attached to a 62 dated IRON CASE T-1o, which I assume came off a passenger car.

        Ed,
All 1962 Chevrolet Passenger cars with 4-speeds had an aluminum case. The iron cases were found on other applications, such as Buick, Studebaker...
