Where to get a block?

I am getting ready to start restoring a 61 vette. I am looking for the correct short block, the engine components are all correct. Evidently original block blew and replacement was obtained, and original parts put back on. I see in driveline several companys that offer correct replacement short blocks. I would like some help in selecting one of these companys. I was considering Classic Engine Co. out of wis. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Jack, I haven't heard anything about Classic Engine, either positive or negative. I have heard good things about Randy at Engines Unlimited. There is also Tracy Performance in Michigan. I have not had ANY experience with any of these, but I just wanted to give you more options. You may want to search the archives for the company names. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Thanks for your response. I think I might be confused about the two engine companys. Kevin mentioned that he had heard good things about Randy at Engines Unlimited and you told me to be "careful" about Randy at Classic Engines. Is there a Randy at both companys? I tried to get some information from Randy at Engines Unlimited .but never could get him to reply.
