I removed my orig. tires and rims from my 1982 Collector Edition, only 11,000 miles. I am using after market rims and tires for local shows and the orig. for NCRS. What is the best way to help preserve my orig. while they are being stored? I dare not try to take them off the rims, at 21 years old, god knows what would happen. I was thinking about praying the rubber with tire dressing and shrink wrapping them.

Re: C3 tire preservation.
John, for what it's worth, I have 6 original tires from my 82, with 20k miles. Not having a second set of wheels, I have mounted/dismounted mine a few times for shows with no ill effects. But if I had another set of wheels ($$$) I'd mount them and forget it. BTW, we used to use nitrogen in tires for the Navy. Not sure if that was for preservation, or just easy to do.
