C3 Ground

I seem to have a bad ground on my wifes 77. Everything that seems to work with chasis ground is screwy. My power window switches, windshield washer lever, tach. and with a new alt. and batt. at night when I turn all the lights on my volt gauge goes down to 8 or so. I can't find where the neg. side of the batt. is connected. Where is the main chasis ground point? Am I on the wrong track?

John The battery ground cable is to the frame just follow the cable to the spot it is bolted on. Their is a ground cable at the right hand engine mount and the #2 body mount. Lyle

Should be right under the battery, on the frame.
